Celebrating the classic innovative drawing set released in 1965, "Spirograph", this expansive 17-piece set of stencil frames and cogs in a variety of shapes allows your child to do endless hands-on experiments with the mathematical concept "hypotrochoids". In geometry, a hypotrochoid is a pattern formed by following a fixed point on the radial line of a small circle moving around the circumference of a larger circle. By repeatedly tracing a shape defined in a stencil that slowly shifts it location a centimeter at a time while the cog moves slowly around the inside of another shape, cool new shapes with fascinating patterns are revealed. 

This set has more variety of shapes, stencils, and cogs than the original "Spirograph" and allows your budding Mathematician to create endless shapes that are works of art. They can experiment by layering hypotrochoids on top of one another using different colors of pens to create beautiful designs worthy of framing.
