Start your engines! This kit lets young builders construct their own realistic race car from the wheels up, and then watch the engineering come to life.

Kids assemble the Speed Racer piece by piece, fitting together wheels, gears and pistons into a fully working car. Once the build is complete, the fun shifts into high gear. As the car rolls, its pistons pump up and down in alternating motion just like a real engine, and the working steering lets drivers take the turns with precision. It’s a front-row seat to how motion travels through a real mechanical system.

This is more than a toy car. It’s a hands-on STEM lesson in automotive engineering. Kids see firsthand how gears transfer power, how pistons move and how steering really works, turning abstract ideas into something they can build, touch and understand.

Illustrated step-by-step instructions and 3D guides keep the build clear and satisfying, so kids can work independently and feel proud of every finished stage. Part of the updated Clementoni Science & Play Mechanics line, this new edition features more detailed parts, more gears and more realism than ever.

Designed and made in Italy, the Speed Racer is a great pick for car fans, budding engineers and kids who always want to know how things work. It makes a great gift for birthdays, holidays or a rainy-day project that ends with a winner.
